The guided tour of St. Peter's Basilica offers pilgrims and visitors the opportunity to admire one of the most important places in Christianity, the center of the liturgical and spiritual life of the universal Church.

To ensure a proper welcome and an orderly flow of visits, access is organized according to a schedule that takes into account liturgical celebrations as well as the requirements for preservation and dignity of the holy place.

The visits are conducted by accredited guides and take place in groups of about 20 participants, divided by language. The duration of the visit is one hour.

It is recommended to wear appropriate clothing for the holy place.

Due to the high flow of visitors to St. Peter's Basilica, please be advised that waiting times may be longer than expected, also due to Police security checks. It is therefore recommended to arrive well in advance of the scheduled time of the visit.

Please note that, on the occasion of extraordinary events, the Visits Office reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or reschedule the visit.
